CALLING ALL
College Students,
Grad Students,

Recent Grad School Grads
(or literally anyone who is applying to a job/internship or academic program)
And the good news is that writing a polished, genuine application that stands out against the crowd doesn’t have to be stressful.
Now, I’m not saying it’s not going to take some work (now is definitely not the time to take your foot off the gas).
In order to have an application that you feel confident submitting, you’ll need to deep-dive into your skills, experiences, goals, and potential.
Too often, applicants waste time and energy trying to write or edit a resume, cover letter, or personal statement that was first drafted on a rocky foundation.
You are probably spending too much time:
Staring at a blank screen
Reading “model” personal statements
Trying to get your formatting right
Stressing about not knowing what to write about
. . . all while trying to keep your grades up and stay on top of your current job.
And what I end up seeing is way too many applicants who are overwhelmed and confused about writing, and end up spending their time on resources that aren’t getting them any closer to submitting their application.
And then they feel stuck. And eventually they decide to throw in the towel because maybe this is just as good as it gets.
But That Is Not As Good As It Gets
I have worked with MBA students, engineering students, law students, real estate professionals, computer science students, and college transfer students. All of these applicants were in the same spot as you are in right now—that exciting/stressful season of deciding what you want to do next and then going after it.
Maybe you have:
Asked your school counselor or teachers for advice
Bought tutoring or consulting packages
Googled free tips and tricks online
Felt like you are doing ALL OF THE THINGS
. . . and you really are working hard, and with the best of intentions!
But the secret? The thing that will actually make you feel confident submitting your application?
Getting un-stuck by getting genuine and gaining clarity.
Think about all of the advice you’ve received about your resume, cover letter, and personal statement; all the articles you’ve read, programs you’ve paid, and people you’ve talked to. I can almost guarantee that most of that advice revolved around subtle tweaks to your application to make it better after the fact, when what you really need is advice on how to make your application solid from the start.
How do you make your resume, cover letter, or personal statement solid from the start?
Have a clear understanding of your life-shaping experiences
Know your skills, abilities, and potential
Identify your current goals, dreams, and passions
Tell your story in an organized and professional way
